THE STRUT SQUAD

WHERE MOVEMENT MEETS BELONGING

TCDC’s dance program for humans with developmental disabilities.

At TCDC, our Special Needs community has been an important part of our family from Day One. Before TCDC was even a thought, Tara felt a strong pull towards creating a dance experience for this demographic in East Boulder County.

Tara’s mother was a special education teacher in the JeffCo School District for 30 years, and her sister has a passion for working with adults with developmental disabilities through her business The Roost, also located in Lafayette, CO.

With her family experience to drive it, Tara started her Special Needs Dance Class when the studio opened in 2013.

In 2026, with brand new energy, a new vision and a never ending love for this community, we are so excited to introduce the TCDC STRUT SQUAD. Keep scrolling for more info!

The Strut Squad is TCDC’s new inclusive, high-energy performance team created for dancers with developmental disabilities. With a focus on community, positivity, connection and FUN, dancers will learn a routine during each session and finish with an exciting performance opportunity! Commit to one session, or all four!

CLASSES ARE ON MONDAYS, 6:15-7:15pm at our Main location - 990 S Public Rd, Lafayette, 80026

Tara Cluck

Tara has spent the past 14 years building and teaching TCDC’s inclusive dance programming. Her connection to the special needs community also extends beyond the studio: her sister works with adults with developmental disabilities, and her mom devoted 30 years to teaching special education. Being surrounded by this community for so many years has given Tara a deep love, respect and appreciation for the dancers and families she serves. She is thrilled to bring that experience into the newly expanded TCDC Strut Squad and create a place where movement truly meets belonging.

Karlee Padgett

Karlee is excited to support the Strut Squad and get to know each of its incredible dancers. She looks forward to sharing her love of dance, bringing positive energy to every rehearsal and helping each dancer feel comfortable, confident and celebrated.
